Jim's Fish Shop

  • My boyfriend and I went for a drive today, about an hour south of Sydney. And we stopped here for lunch. Little beach-side take away shop.

    This store has been in the same family for years, and hasn't been renovated since the early 60's. They are closing at the end of this month for 6 weeks, to completly demolish this shop, and rebuild it as a "cafe"..

    Almost everywhere will be *renovated* soon. They'll be nothing of any substance left soon enough. Everything is starting to look like it's out of an Ikea catalogue.

    Even the menu was either hand-written, or stenciled. So i had to capture it for history's sake.

  • Know exactly what you mean... drove past the old local store that we nicknamed the 'little shop' when we were kids.... used to walk there every friday and get heaps of mixed lollies with our 50c pocket money !!! Not so 'little' anymore, and sadly, not so friendly anymore...... Hope you gave a copy to the owners xx
