Waltham, Mass.-based StorageNetworks will provide primary and backup systems to Plano, Texas-based EDS as it enhances its data storage framework for managing its vast client requirements.

Shares of STOR rose 0.49 or 12 percent to 4.57 at midday on the EDS deal as well as earnings report that exceeded analyst expecations.
