Everyone and there mother?

January 6th, 2009
  • has anyone ever heard of that phrase before? i heard someone say that today and i was like what? lol but yea. how random is that? y isnt it liek everyone and ther father or parents? so random. lol ne1 heard of it b4

  • i heard it as everyone and their brother.
meaning there was an awful lot of people there.

  • i have, and, just btw, it would be "their" mother
but i do agree, it is really random, as are many phrases in our language, i mean, if you really think of then:
"pumpkin" and "muffin" as endearing terms, raining cats and dogs, looking the gift horse in the mouth, etc.
    ooh, how ridiculous!

  • i've heard of it before and its so true!

  • not yet.. haven't heard of that saying before but now i know. thanks

  • i hav heard my dad say everyone and their 'brother' but not their mother... its probably some old timey phrase they used years ago...
